Lane walked up to Rory's door twirling her drumsticks all the way. humming the song her band was working on. I hope Rory is home. I haven't got a chance to see her lately. Lane thought before reaching the door.
Tapping a rhythm on the door she waited for someone to answer.

Rory was home for the weekend, going to do some laundry and catch up on things if she was lucky. Currently she had just finished putting a load into the drying and was working on a reading assignment she had yet to finish. She jotted down a few notes, hearing a knock on the door. She was just going to let her mom get it. "Mom!" she called. "Door."
However after a few minutes when her mother didn't answer her call, she assumed that she must have snuck out. Probably to go see Luke, or perhaps she was still sleeping. Either way it was apparent that she wasn't going to answer the door. Rory set down her book and note book and headed over to the door. Opening it she smiled, seeing her best friend.
"Hey Lane!" she said.

Lane jumped when the door opened. It was Rory. Lane squealed a little. "Rory! I miss you. It have been forever." Lane yelled walking in. "So what's going on? How have you been?" Lane kept rambling.

Rory laughed. "Hey Lane," she said with a smile. "How are you?" she asked.
She had missed her friend during her time at Yale and it seemed as if she never got to see her anymore, what with her being home so few weekends and all the work that she had to do at school. It was just hard to make time to see anyone.

"I am just happy to see you," Lane smiled wider. "Oh and my mom is going crazy over something." Lane looked towards the house and walked in. "Maybe it has something to do with me but I am not sure." Sighing she turned to Rory. "Enough about me I want to know what has been going on in your life away from home," she said smiling and twirling her drumsticks in between her fingers.
